What Are Affiliate Links?
When we link to a software product and you click that link then make a purchase, we sometimes earn a commission from the company. This is called an affiliate relationship. The price you pay is identical — the company simply shares a portion of the sale with us as a referral fee.
How Affiliate Relationships Affect Our Reviews
They don’t. Here is our editorial policy in plain language:
- We never accept payment in exchange for a positive review or a higher score.
- We never adjust a review score because of an affiliate relationship.
- We review products we don’t earn commission on just as thoroughly as those we do.
- If a free alternative is better than a paid product, we say so — even if the paid product pays us a commission.
- Negative findings are published regardless of commercial relationships.

rel="sponsored". In practice, any button labeled
“Visit Website,” “Try Free,” “Get Deal,” or similar on a review page is
likely an affiliate link. We also include a short disclosure note
directly below affiliate buttons.
Which Affiliate Programs Do We Use?
We participate in affiliate programs from software companies and marketplaces including but not limited to:
- Setapp (Mac app subscription service)
- ShareASale network partners
- Individual SaaS company affiliate programs
- Amazon Associates (for hardware and book recommendations)
